The Time is Now

We will constantly seek joy.

We have a right to tell our children our stories.

We dreamed of blackhistoryforkids.com in 2017. We wanted parents, teachers, and community members to find a place where their history was celebrated and revered. So much has been taken away. So much forgotten. The implicit messages are plentiful and consistently damaging. Our children are important. There are so many messages that tell them otherwise. We know that though this is not intentional, it is wholly damaging.

How can we build our children up?

How do we ensure they have pride, respect for their legacy, and consistent, unending hope for the future?

This is a mantle we must take hold of.
